One national ground carries the football team, the athletics meets and the ceremonies. Renovated after the earthquake, it is full for a handful of fixtures a year and quiet for the rest.

The federation's wish-list includes regional stadiums, and a few provinces have broken ground.

Who plays there

A stadium without a regular league season is an expensive monument. The governing body's own development programmes stress pitches and leagues before stands. (FIFA 2025)
